ActiveCaptain Redesigns Website and
Expands Their Points Award Program
CASTINE, Maine, July 15, 2009 – The popular ActiveCaptain web site has been completely redesigned with a new look, a new logo, and a simpler user-interface along with a new store with a unique way of earning discounts.
Boaters, sailors, and cruisers will find accessing the information they need to plan their next excursion faster and more intuitive. ActiveCaptain's interactive cruising guidebook still offers the same marina, anchorage, and local knowledge details they depend on along with honest, uncensored reviews.
An exciting addition is the ActiveCaptain Store. While the store offers very competitive pricing on marine items, ActiveCaptain users can use the points they accumulate by contributing to the guidebook to save more money. The store will be expanding product categories monthly. These savings are in addition to the ongoing Awards Program which uses points to obtain free products from our manufacturing partners.
ActiveCaptain is working with a variety of manufacturers to offer free samples of marine products when a user reaches certain point thresholds. The program has been well received and new manufacturers continue to be added. Boaters are able to try new marine products while manufacturers gain access to active, vocal users who will let others know about their experience.
The ActiveCaptain web site has the largest database of marinas, anchorages, and local knowledge on the web. Its wiki-style interface allows users to enhance and correct the information, and to add their own uncensored reviews.
