The New Web Site is Up

The new ActiveCaptain web site is up and running. We hope you like the new look and find it even easier to access the features you want. We've rearranged the home page making it more obvious how to get to our articles, the store, and, of course, the Interactive Guidebook. If you experience any problems with the new site please let us know.

Note: For the web site to display properly in Internet Explorer, you must be using version 7 or later. If you are using version 6 or earlier, it really is time to upgrade - it's free.

We love hearing about the experiences of people using our web site. Captain Dean Wiley recently emailed us about his stay at the Grand Harbor Marina in Counce, Tennessee. Chip Lucas, the manager at Grand Harbor, has been a strong supporter of ActiveCaptain. He has told us he regularly checks reviews for his marina to find out what they're doing right and where they can improve. He really understands the notion of customer service. Here's what Captain Wiley described:

"We would like to tell you how much we used and relied upon ActiveCaptain during our recent run up the Tombigbee to Kentucky Lake. It was the best planning tool onboard.... As an anecdotal example of ActiveCaptain's reach:

We pulled into Grand Harbor Marina at the junction of the Tombigbee and Tennessee Rivers and received super service. I went online and gave them a good review on ActiveCaptain. Within a couple of hours we had three smiling dock attendants knocking on the boat, bringing us coffee mugs to thank us for the nice write-up. You guys rock! Happy cruising."

Amnesty for ActiveCaptain Mobile Upgrades
==========================================
Many of you have purchased ActiveCaptain Mobile for your Palm or Windows Mobile devices. Often you purchase a single region for only $19.95 and then find you love it so much you wish you'd purchased the whole bundle of regions for only $49.95. What most of you don't know is that we allow you to upgrade from a single region to the full bundle within the first 30 days without penalty - purchase the bundle and we'll refund the region price.

Since we have done a very poor job of making this known we are implementing an "Upgrade Amnesty." From now until we leave on our cruise on August 21st, any ActiveCaptain Mobile user who purchased a single region can receive a refund of the region price when they purchase the full bundle. Simply purchase the bundle and then email Karen (karen@activecaptain.com) and you'll get a refund for the $19.95 region. It's a great deal!
