150 Points Gets Rescue Tape
=================================
We have a roll of Rescue Tape in our engine room. It's there to repair a broken hose in an emergency. Rescue Tape is a self-fusing silicone tape - there's no adhesive. You stretch it and wrap it around something you want to seal. When it wraps upon itself, it fuses and makes a permanent seal. It's good to 500F degrees and has been tested at 950 PSI tensile strength. It's the perfect thing for an emergency.

Jeff met Ron from Rescue Tape through Twitter. Ron told Jeff about many other things that Rescue Tape can be used for. It is much better than electrical tape for finishing and waterproofing an electrical connection (8,000 volts per layer of insulation). And it never gets gummy or sticky like electrical tape. It's the perfect thing to mark anchor chain because it can be put on when the chain is wet, it seals instantly and is available in 8 colors. It's even an excellent compression bandage for temporary medical emergencies. Who knew?

We were amazed to find out the many different uses for Rescue Tape and have been experimenting with it with wonderful results. So we told Ron, if we didn't know what Rescue Tape could do then there was a good chance our Captains didn't know either.

Ron agreed. Starting today, when you reach 150 points, you'll get a free roll of Rescue Tape. As always, if you've already reached 150 points, you'll get an email right away asking for a mailing address. Give it a shot - you're going to love it.

Ed's Batteries
==========================================
Last week we replaced all the batteries on our boat in preparation for our upcoming cruise. It's one of our least favorite jobs. Not only is it physically taxing, it's also expensive. Fortunately, we've discovered Ed's Batteries.

Most cruisers are familiar with DC Battery Specialists (DCBS) in Miami. They have the reputation of offering the best prices on marine batteries. Unfortunately, if you are north of the Chesapeake the cost of shipping the batteries can easily eliminate any savings. Ed's Batteries in Westbrook, Maine will match the price of DCBS for any battery they carry and they carry them all. They are professional and helpful, and will arrange shipping - usually the same business day - to wherever you are. If you need batteries, we encourage you to check them out. Their phone number is 207-854-9418 and their web site is:

You've been adding new reviews and anchorages at an amazing pace! We've even seen some great new anchorages we plan on trying as we head south. Thanks for the tips! Follow our blog as we get ready to leave for our cruise - a little over 4 weeks and counting.
