ActiveCaptain Quick Lists
==========================================
One of the greatest joys of our current cruise has been meeting and hearing from users of the ActiveCaptain website. Sometimes it's a hail from the VHF, "I love ActiveCaptain," sometimes it's chatting dockside, and sometimes it's a leisurely dinner. We love to hear your praise, suggestions, and experiences. It feels like we have friends in every port.

The most common message we hear is how you value ActiveCaptain as a planning tool for your time on the water. It allows you to explore new destinations with more confidence and find those wonderful spots not touted in the typical guidebook. We've also heard that there are times when you know precisely where you want to go and simply would like to find a piece of information quickly, such as a phone number or VHF channel. We know what you mean.

Check the ActiveCaptain website for a new tab: Quick Lists. Quick Lists are a way to quickly access marina information without needing to download the accompanying map or satellite image. Accessing the Quick List tab will display a list of countries, states, and cities allowing you to quickly bring up a list of marinas. Select a marina and you will have a list of all the information and reviews available for that marina.

This is just the first version of Quick Lists. The ability to search on a marina name and access the lists of anchorages, local knowledge, and hazards by regions will be coming next. So try the new Quick List tab and let us know what you think. And if you see a boat with an ActiveCaptain logo on the side give us a holler.

New NOAA Regions Released for ActiveCaptain Mobile
===================================================
The latest NOAA charts for ActiveCaptain Mobile are now available on the web site for captains who have purchased ActiveCaptain Mobile. These charts are current to November 6th, 2009. You can now download the latest charts for any regions you've licensed by clicking on the "My Account" link on any page of the web site or: http://www.activecaptain.com/myAccount.php

In the section that displays, "Region licenses that have been activated," make sure "09110" is showing on the right side. If it isn't, restart your browser, clear your cache, or reboot to guarantee the latest version of the page is loaded for use.

An iPhone Jailbreak
==========================================
As you probably know from our last newsletter, we've been enjoying our iPhone. But like any respectable geek, Jeff has been anxious to test its limits and the ultimate test is jailbreaking the iPhone. For those of you not obsessed with technology and who don't have access to a fourteen year old, jailbreaking is modifying the iPhone internals so you can make it do things it's not suppose to do like tether your laptop to the Internet or run certain programs that Apple hasn't approved.

With days of bad weather from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, Jeff was able to find time to experiment with some jailbreaking techniques and found the process surprisingly easy. An article will be coming shortly on the website detailing the process and his experience. Watch future newsletters for more information.

We named our boat aCappella because when we are on her we are going unaccompanied by the usual ties we find on land. One of the pleasures is the lack of a rigid schedule. Well, earlier this month we decided to postpone our stay in Brunswick, GA and stay on in Charleston. We're here until the end of December, then leaving for -- who knows. Check out our location on SPOT and don't hesitate to knock on the side if you're nearby. To find out what Dyna and Dylan are up to check out our blog:

We hope to meet you on the water!
