Coastal Explorer Now Available
==========================================
We are very pleased to announce that Coastal Explorer is now available for purchase on the ActiveCaptain website. Why buy Coastal Explorer from ActiveCaptain? We'll give you three reasons.
1. Guaranteed unbeatable price - We have the lowest price you'll find anywhere. If you find it for less somewhere else, we'll match that price or we'll refund the price difference within 30 days of purchase.
2. Added support - You'll get help if you need it from us. We know the software, especially the ActiveCaptain integration. We're not the typical store - we know boating and we know the product.
3. Support the website - All income we receive from software sales goes toward the website. Help keep ActiveCaptain the best resource available.

The Best Users in the World
==========================================
We've always known we had great users. You visit the website, contribute your knowledge, send us encouraging messages. So many of you have stopped by our boat to tell us how much you use and love the site. You've offered us your car, dock space, and all sorts of assistance. You've invited us to your boat or house for dinner. You've even brought treats for the dogs, or maybe that was just a way to get past our ironclad security system.
What we never anticipated was that you would promote the Co-Op program to marinas. We've been blown away by the number of marinas contacting us because ActiveCaptain users are telling them they should. One manager told us, "My inbox is overrun with messages."
We know the Co-Op idea is a bit unusual, maybe even quirky. It goes against all past notions of marketing - no upfront costs? - only pay if it works? "It sounds too good to be true" is something we've heard more than once. Some in the old school have told us it'll never work. We've spent our careers building things "that'll never work."
The bottom line is that we truly believe in this concept and believe it will work to the benefit of everyone. So please keep telling marinas it's a good idea. One word from you trumps thousands from us. We've already signed up dozens of marinas. For this to work we need to sign up hundreds. We promise that we will keep promoting the Co-Op idea to marinas. You can help by continuing to let them know you support the idea too.
Medical Emergencies for Cruising Boaters
==========================================
What types of medical emergencies happen to cruising boaters? How many accidents happen to cruisers on their boats? What are the causes and what can we do to prevent our adventures from turning into terrors?
The answers to all of these questions is: we don't know.
The Medical University of South Carolina is trying to find out and they need your help. They're doing the first ever research into medical issues for cruising boaters. They need our help to gather anonymous information. They'll take the data and publish findings that will help all of us. They've promised to provide the data back to ActiveCaptain as well.
This is something really important. It will take less than 10 minutes to report medical problems you've had onboard. Please follow the link below and let's help them kick off this research with data from the people who are really out there using their boats - ActiveCaptain users.
The medical survey can be completed at:

We'll post the research results as they are released. This is a serious study being done by professionals. Helping them will end up helping all of us.
New Bern, NC 300th Anniversary
==========================================
New Bern, North Carolina is one of our favorite stops. We've stayed there many times over the years. It's a wonderful historic town with great people. This year New Bern is celebrating its 300th anniversary and they are celebrating in style with a year full of events, concerts, festivals, parades, and more. To find out what's going on check out the town's calendar of events:

So many of you snow birds are cruising north right now. Take our advice. Take a couple of days and go see New Bern. Make sure you check out The Galley Store's special Co-Op offers:

Owner Mark Mangum will be running a series of Co-Op offers to encourage you to try his new marina and right now has a 2-for-1 day stay - that's 50% off the dock price. According to our captain reviews, you also need to check out their gourmet store. Give them a try and enjoy the festivities in this beautiful town.
We're just completing our visit to Cumberland Island, GA. We had an incredible time here for 5 days - beach swimming, trail hiking, historic presentations, wild horses, and on and on.
Don't hesitate to hail us on the VHF or knock on the boat when you see our logo. We'd love to hear from you. To find out how Dyna and Dylan liked the island check out our blog:
