Waypoints & routes

Routes and waypoints provide navigation capabilities

  • Drag waypoints and routes to accurately position them.
  • Edit any of the waypoints or routes in multiple ways - even by entering specific latitude/longitude positions.
  • Measure route lengths to determine time requirements and fuel reserves.
  • Route following with automatic waypoint advancement.
  • Locking of waypoints and routes to avoid accidental changes.
  • Dialogs for listing waypoints and routes in alphabetical order.

GPS Support

Adding a GPS is easy and provides many more features as a full chartplotter

GPS Support

Although you don't have to have a GPS with ActiveCaptain Mobile, adding one provides more capabilities. With a GPS you can see your position on the nautical charts. This gives you a real moving map chartplotter using real nautical charts with the waypoints and routes that you've created.

  • Supports all Bluetooth GPS devices allowing you to add a GPS inexpensively.
  • Provides extensive data display in Data Boxes showing multiple items and assisting in your navigation.
  • Allows you to "lock" the GPS cursor in the center of the screen with Follow Mode. As you move, the chart will pan underneath the GPS cursor and the GPS will stay in the center.
  • Quickly move into Follow Mode with one button press.
  • Rotates the chart displayed as the GPS reports your changing course. This allows you to keep the GPS cursor pointing upward.
  • GPS status display showing satellites being used to acquire the position and their signal strengths.
  • Quickly add a waypoint at your current GPS position. This is an excellent way to mark a position to remember or to mark an anchor location.
  • GPS cursor color changes to provide notification about the status of the GPS signal.
  • An excellent way to keep an anchor watch by monitoring your GPS distance from the place where you dropped your anchor.
